The 2023 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Pre-Season tournament in General Santos City on February 21-27 at the Lagao Gym will feature the reigning MPBL champion Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards and 2022 finalist Zamboanga Family's Brand Sardines as its headliners. The Gensan Warriors, Imus City Bandera, and Valenzuela XUR Homes Realty are in Group B with the Rice Vanguards, while the Sarangani Marlins, Team Bulalakaw of Manny Pacquiao (guest team), Zamboanga and Batangas City Tanduay Rum Masters are in Group A. The winner of the Preseason Invitational will receive a hefty 3 million pesos. P500,000 for second place, P300,000 for third, and P200,000 for fourth. The rest of the 8-team field will get P100,000 each.
The MPBL Regular Season (5th Season) begins on March 11, 2023 at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena City with 30 teams, including newcomers Negros Muscovados and Quezon Province Huskers, to be divided into the North and South divisions.
